GOD'S kids - 4 days to go

Evening, to all the GOD'S kids followers, we have managed to get all the food stuff, just working on the refreshments, but are not doing to good on the Live music so far, but we are believing in God to deliver on this also. We had a Donation for the food, lunch meat and bread for the sandwiches along with the ingredients needed  for the soup, so now only have to get the refreshments for the Event.
I have an appointment in the morning but will then be placing the calls to firm up on the people coming into town for the event.
We should have a pretty good turn out for the first, of many of GOD'S kids events to happen this year, by the rumors we are hearing. Seeing how this is the first of such Events, we might have missed a few things, but like all good things we learn as we proceed.
Well there is not to much more to say about today's progress except, we have signatures on the corporation papers for GODS KIDS Inc. and will be sending them in as soon as we can.
I am heading to bed early so I don't miss my appointment tomorrow, but will keep everybody up to date with future entries pertaining to GOD'S kids.
We are still in need of your Donations so we can expand and go forward in Chatham Kent with the ministry GOD'S kids, so please sow into this Ministry, if God puts it upon your heart.

God Bless,
Phyllis, Kirk, Theresa

GOD'S kids - 5 days

Well only five days to go, till the GOD'S kids event which will be taking place at The Shepherds Way Inn located at 260 King Street West, I will have to make the phone calls Tuesday, went out shopping for the food and refreshments today still have to pick up a few things.
The sign/logo was not ready today for the back of my truck, but I was able to ok the proofs for the business cards, which should be ready for Friday.
GOD'S kids will be having soup and sandwiches, along with refreshments either coffee, tea or water, there is no charge so come on in and enjoy, if God puts it on your Heart, Donations are always accepted and appreciated.
There will be live Christian music, also people that will pray for you or any situation you may be going thru, or you can just sit and relax and talk if you only want to do that.
GOD'S kids is still accepting the needed Donations for this Ministry on our Blog site, just by clicking on the Donate button and entering your information, it is that easy, GOD'S kids would like to thank-you in advance for all your Help.
GOD'S kids, is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT business/Ministry and the furtherance of this Ministry and events like this are all funded by Donations, so without your help and generosity GOD'S kids will have a difficult time planning for future events. Well I have lots to do tomorrow, so I am heading to bed early, and will see you on the next blog.
Just a reminder, "God Loves a Cheerful Giver".

GOD'S kids Opening 7 more days

Time certainly does not slow down, it was only fourteen days ago that this Ministry came into thought and now only a week away, we will all get to meet, and celebrate the first Opening of GODS KIDS.
This will be a busy week, appointments to meet with store managers to secure the food and refreshments, then to the sign company to pick up my tailgate with the new logo on it.
I will be picking up our business cards on Friday, but throughout the week all the little things, that I am sure we have missed, will have to be finished.
We are very fortunate to have a Chef/Cook, volunteer his services for this event, believe me, it is much better this way, the options were, you guessed it me, so enough said about that. This will be at The Shepherds Way Inn, located at 260 King Street West from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
All the follow up calls, to the organizations and people that said they were going to be here, to greet and minister if needed have to be made. The food has to be prepared before the doors open to the public.
Some encouraging news, I would like to share, is God's Kids Prayer Warriors, have been busy, doing what they do best, and that is Pray for the people that have requested prayer on our site.
GOD'S kids would also like to send a big Thank-you, out to all the Street Ministry Team for doing their prayer walk downtown today and praying for our God's Kids outreach happening next Saturday March 3rd.
I believe that is about it for today, and as always, if God puts it upon your Heart to Sow into this Ministry to help in the furtherance of GOD'S Kids, please do not second guess what God has said to you, God does not make mistakes, and if God starts something, God will see it through to his completion. See everybody in Church tomorrow, have a great evening.

God Bless,
Phyllis, Kirk, Theresa

GOD'S kids - Preperation list

To think it was only fourteen days earlier that the first blog entry went on the internet of the birth of this new ministry in Chatham Kent, GOD'S kids. Since then we have had 1,076 views on our site http://gods-kids.blogspot.com, we have been on the radio UCB Canada 89.3 FM, we have been in The Chatham Daily News, and we have a Facebook page with 79 members. We have finished our NUANS search and filed our Incorporation for Corporation, Not-For-Profit papers, to secure GODS KIDS INC.
GOD'S kids has also been in contact, with various local services to be utilized if the need arises for the people we help.
The next step in going forward, is to purchase the food and refreshments that we are going to be needing  for our Opening at The Shepherds Way Inn on March 3/2012 from 4;30pm to 6:00pm. To accomplish this  GOD'S kids are stepping out in Faith, that the money needed to cover the costs, will be Sowed into this Ministry by Donations, which can either be facilitated on our site by utilizing the Donate button which is on each page or better yet, why not enjoy a short break and have a coffee or tea and say hello to Theresa the owner of The Shepherds Way Inn, then you could give the Donation to Theresa, who will pass it onto GOD'S kids to help cover the cost of the food and refreshments for the March 3/2012 planned Opening.
To borrow a line from my Pastor, "The Lord Loves a Cheerful Giver"
GOD'S kids will have representatives from Teen Challenge (London) also attending will be a Senior Pastor from one of our local Churches, GOD'S kids will have live Christian music playing for your entertainment. Lets make 2012, a year that God uses Chatham Kent, as a Beacon  for all to see.
Matthew 7:7-11 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it will be opened For every one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?

GOD'S-kids - Keeping promise to God

Keeping promise to God
By ELLWOOD SHREVE
Updated 3 hours ago

Phyllis Lawlor says God helped turn her life around when she was a teenager and she promised some day she try to do the same for others.

Well, the day has arrived, and the Chatham woman - along with local residents Kirk Dawes and Theresa Nadeau - are launching God's Kids Ministry of Chatham-Kent on March 3.

"I went from being a teen mother and homeless, and an alcoholic . . . to God literally taking me into another realm to be saved," Lawlor said.

Having recently turned 50, she decided it was time to take action.

"At three o'clock in the morning, I was on my Facebook and I asked: "Is there somebody out there that can design me a website free of charge," Lawlor said.

When Dawes, who attends her church, Praise Fellowship, immediately responded, she knew it was time to get rolling.

The launch of the ministry will take place at the Shepherd's Way Inn at 260 King St. W., in Chatham, from 4:30-6 p.m., where young people, age 14-30, can enjoy some free soup and sandwiches and live music.

Dawes said the goal of the God's Kids Ministry is to be a place where young people can come and talk about their troubles, including drug and alcohol problems, and have someone listen to them in a non-condemning fashion.

"We just want to empower people who are not happy with their lives, instead of just kicking it around . . . they've got a place to come in and try to get it out of their system," he said.

Dawes added, "if they want prayer, we'll obviously give them prayer."

Lawlor hopes to see the ministry expand to help young people with job searches and preparing resumes.

She has already set up a 24-hour prayer line at 519-397-4092, which she is doing herself. If she's not available, callers are encouraged to leave a message and she will call them back.

Also, Lawlor said, the goal is to get more volunteers involved to man the prayer line 24-hours a day and assist with other projects. She said those interested are also invited to the first meeting.

She added representatives from Teen Challenge in London, a men's drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, will be in attendance on March 3 to talk with young people seeking help.

She said the ministry is about helping young people gain peace in their lives.

"Forgiveness is where it starts," Lawlor said.

A website is in the works, but there is currently a blog at gods-kids.blogspot.com.

GOD'S kids - Views

Happy to report an increase of views, on GOD'S-kids' blog site from 377 on Thursday mourning, not quite 35 hours later, GOD'S-kids' views number, has increased to 544 views, would like to thank UCB Canada 89.3 FM, for their help in the short broadcast on there station here in Chatham, ON. I think this is Awesome for only being active for six days.
I have also added some New tabs on the site, to make viewing GOD'S-kids' a little easier. I will be adding to the site regularly to improve the appearance and post new information as it happens.
March 3/2012 is approaching and we still need your Donations to help GOD'S-kids' be able to meet the food, refreshment needs, plus the unforeseen extras, that I am sure we have not thought of, we have included a DONATE button on each page for your convenience.

GOD'S kids - Post UCB radio interview

Well it was tough getting up and at it today, after not getting to bed as early as I wanted. Went to stop at Tim Horton's but the line up would have put me way too late for the interview, so did it cold turkey.
When I arrived I went up in the elevator to the 3rd floor, walked into the station, where I was greeted, by Mr. Al Baker, who happens to be a very nice, soft spoken gentleman. I was shown to a sitting room/office while I waited for my two partners to arrive.
Mr. Baker asked if I would like a coffee, oh yes and many thanks. Shortly after that I was joined by my two partners, lol while I enjoyed my coffee, oh did I say Thanks Mr. Baker.
The interview went very well from the reports I received after, and I think we covered everything that was needed to be said, except for the need of two or three volunteers to help in the food preparation at The Shepherds Way Inn, they will have to contact Theresa Nadeau, at 519-380-9985 to schedule a time and date to cut up veggies for the soup. We will also need volunteers, when it gets closer to the event day March 3/2012 to help with making sandwiches.
Again this is a Not-For-Profit event, so with tongue in cheek, we are asking for your support and Donations, to help cover the cost of the food, water, coffee and tea along with all the extra costs of trying to get this needed Ministry off to an Excellent start, allowing us to plan for the next, Blessing of God in the Chatham Kent area.

God Bless,

GOD'S-kids Prayer board

Good evening friends, going to try and get this done early, we have our UCB radio interview in the morning so I will not be up late tonight, adding to the blog. I just wanted to post a picture of the New GOD'S kids - Prayer Board, and to let everybody know, that if you or somebody you know needs Prayer for anything, then we will Pray for them, then place their Name(s) on the board if we are given permission and in so doing, other people will also Pray for them.

God Bless,
Phyllis, Kirk, Theresa

GOD'S kids - On the Radio

Hi, well nice and early on Thursday 8:00am, the Founders (Phyllis,Kirk and Theresa) of GOD'S kids, will be doing a radio interview, to explain what we are doing, how we are going to accomplish this and just general, talk about GOD'S kids.
But the Immediate concern is the DONATIONS that we so desperately need to purchase the food, coffee, tea and water plus all the other supplies we need for the Opening of this ministry and to the furtherance of this much needed service.
The menu will be soup, sandwiches and either coffee, tea or water, we will be using The Shepherds Way Inn, located at 260 King Street West, a special thanks goes out to Theresa Nadeau for stepping up and letting us use her establishment.
We will be working in conjunction with local businesses like, Loads of Love, REFUGE, Crossroads, Right To Life, Teen Challenge, UCB Canada and Praise Fellowship Church.
We also are trying to get a list of jobs that are available in Chatham Kent and the surrounding area for reference if the person wishes to pursue a job. We will try to help with proper clothing for job interviews, with the assistance of Loads of Love.
There is a DONATE button on the Blog page, that we are Trusting in the Lord to touch the Hearts of everybody, in Chatham Kent and the surrounding area, to make a difference this year 2012, by clicking on it to make a Donation for the purpose of Sowing into this Ministry.
Something to keep in mind, when you DONATE, is the Lord loves a Cheerful giver.

Galatians 6:7, we are told, "Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

1 Corinthians 13:1- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Gods-kids- In The Paper

We had an interview yesterday at The Shepherd's Way Inn, with a gentleman from the Chatham Daily News. Ellwood contacted Phyllis who then called me and we did a conference call, to answer some of the questions Ellwood was asking for his article. We then agreed to meet at The Shepherd's Way Inn for a few pictures, which will be in an article this week in reference to GOD'S-kids.
We are having our Opening on Saturday March 3/2012, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at 260 King St. To sum GOD'S-kids, up in a few lines, it would be fair to say, we are a Not-For-Profit, corporation that is operating with just Donations, we offer a warm place to come in and relax, have a bowl of soup along with a sandwich, and either hot tea, coffee or just a water.
If there happens to be anything bothering you we will also just sit and listen, sometimes just talking about the problem(s) will help. There is a Prayer room, that can be utilized if you wish to have somebody pray with or for you, also we will have three gentlemen from Teen Challenge (London), along with an annotated Senior Pastor from a local Church.
The idea is to just let the person know, that they are not in this all by themselves, and that there are people who are genuinely concern for their health and well-being, and that God loves them, and only desires the BEST for his kids.

God Bless

GOD'S kids'

We will be providing the young people (14 to 30) of Chatham Kent, a friendly location to have some food along with relaxation, also somebody they can talk with and receive prayer. By doing so, we hope to create a curiosity and desire, to further search out the Love, Compassion and Forgiveness of our savior Jesus. We will help with information on local Churches if they wish to join, and we will also try to give information about any job opportunities in the area. Our intent is to try and help find the young people of Chatham Kent, a Church they can call home, in hopes that they want to learn about Jesus and all that Jesus desires to give and do for them.
